Introduced in 1966, a total of1,203 Grand Banks 42s were built. This popular model was not replaced until 1991. Indeed the GB 42 is the standard by which other trawlers her size are generally measured. Her enduring popularity and strong resale value can be attributed to superb engineering and construction, timeless styling, and proven blue water hull design. Her fine entry is combined with a moderate beam and full length skeg keel, giving the GB 42 excellent sea keeping characteristics in a wide range of conditions. Aside from the fiberglass change, there were few major modifications to the basic design.. Continuous product refinement can best characterize her evolution. The two stateroom interior also boosts two private heads. The interior is finished with rich teak woodwork for an unmistakable yacht finish.
