Family owned Maurell Products is one of the first companies to ever build pontoon boats. Its Crest Savannah LST is the flagship boat in the line, and for 2007 it helps usher in Crest’s 50th anniversary. The Savannah LST rides on two 25-inch tubes, and each tube features four airtight chambers per tube. With a max of 150 hp, the two-tube Savannah isn’t intended to be a high-performance craft by any means, so its engine is sufficient.

115 Evenrude E-Tec provideds plenty of speed for a casual day of cruising on this 18-seater. There are many thoughtful features on this boat, such as the entertainment center at the forward helm that features a double sink, ice chest, stove, stainless steel blender and a pull-out refrigerator cooler. Aside from the Berber carpet and stainless steel rails and cupholders throughout the boat, the sculptured interior seating provides both comfort and function for passengers — and the floating cooler table is a useful feature, as are the floating cupholders. For the captain, a woodgrain-accented instrumentation cluster provides all the necessary info. The double-wide captain’s chair reclines and swivels, and the lockable glove compartment. The captain will appreciate the BayStar hydraulic steering. The Savannah LST features a pop-up privacy enclosure, which actually is located at the port quarter and is accessed by lifting up the corner of the wrap-around seat, thereby cutting down on the amount of deck space it eats up. Something that is unique to Crest’s Savannah LST is that it doesn’t feature the typical playpen siding. Crest uses a commercial-grade material called Alucabond, which is essentially two layers of aluminum sandwiched around a rubber core. Two sheets of the sturdy material (which is used on gas station canopies) on each side of 1-inch square tubing makes for virtually indestructible walls. Crest only builds pontoon boats, and it’s no surprise with the innovative ideas on this boat that it has several patents in the pontoon industry. At $38,000 new retail, the Savannah LST is a great way to spend the day on the water with the whole gang. I have several extras as well. Porta potty-never used, full custom made camper enclosure ($3000. value) never used at all!!, about 75 hrs on the engine in lake water only. Great JVC 6 speaker stereo system/cd/mp3 player. Running board lights, refridgerator, running water, many storage areas, 2 anchors, Full air mattress (never used, with compressor. Dual batteries, 12v outlets, recessed cleats, custom bumpers, double bimini top and full custom fitted cover for storage. Never used in salt water, never trailered anywhere. Bought new from dealer who cared for it year round. Will be adding more details (winter has been tough here this year so access is limited).
