HINDU
This classic schooner helped establish the whale watching trade in New England. At the stately age of eighty-six years young, this wooden-hulled beauty is seeking a new owner (or group of owners) ready to sail her off into the sunset.
For decades she inspired many a sailing enthusiast both here in Key West and in her previous home port area of Provincetown, Massachusetts. Originally designed by Wiliam Hand, Hindu was built by the well-known Hodgdon Brothers Boatyard in East Boothbay, Maine in 1925. Upon such quality construction, she was recently restored (2007) and patiently awaits her new sailing orders.
