Kittiwake is a 1975 33’ Nauticat built in Finland. She is a cutter ketch motor sailor that drafts 4’1” and is 10’ 8” wide with a full displacement hull made of fiberglass.
This 7 ton proven live a board with berths fore and aft is propelled by sail (Genoa and storm jibs, 1 main sail and a mizzen sail) and a Lehman 4 cylinder 80 hp diesel. Economic to run at 1.25 gph at 7 knots with two fuel tanks totaling 160 gal. This Documented Vessels pilot house is equipped with electronics that include a VHF radio, auto helm, speed log, depth sounder, fish finder and wind indicator. Also included at the helm is a clear view wind shield. The galley consists of a Force Ten 3 burner gimbaled stove top with oven. Pressurized fresh water system and an ac/dc refrigerator. There is seating for four and lots of space for storage. The head is composting and a shower.
The teak fore deck is spacious as is the aft deck which includes a ladder for either port or starboard use. 6 new Trojan batteries (4 house / 2 starter) were installed in June 2018.
2 Solar panels are installed with a 30 amp dock plug in. Surveyed in 2013, she was last hauled for 2 coats of bottom paint and zincs in March 2019. The Anchor system is a 45 lbs Delta with 200’ of chain on a windlass. There is a Fortress anchor for spare. Other equipment included is a 9’ Conny sailing dinghy, a Honda 1000 watt generator, life preservers and two 10 gal aluminum propane tanks.
